Milestones alumni Noe and Hank joined us today. Now enjoyed reading us a story. Later we decorated Day of the Dead-inspired skeleton heads.

When I asked what everyone wanted to do after snack they replied unanimously, “play doctor” so Noe made a list of who got to be the doctor so we could take turns. We had a few patients that had to spend the night at the hospital!

Trees and Leaves

We took a walk over to the Regis campus to see some big trees and engage in some large expanses of grass! The first thing the children did when we got there was lay on the grass!

Preschoolers want to touch everything but I told them when a tree is very young we need to be gentle with it and that talking to it is the best thing you can do. Kenadie decided to sing to this little tree…

The library had an interesting exhibit of Day of the Dead skeletons. The children enjoyed looking at this colorful display.

The campus is over a hundred years old and when the children stand in front of some of the grand trees you can really get an idea of how big they are!

They rolled down a small hill which led us to the Secret Tree!

Lots of fun and weird plants to explore. We got to see in detail how a crane works also.

Butterflies & Pumpkins

Kenadie and Everly pretended to be sleeping butterflies and the rest of the gang joined them!

We continued to play around with the five little pumpkins and later we painted our little pumpkins.

The preschoolers love to play “driving around in the car” together. Julietta fashioned some car seats for the babies out of blocks!

Witche’s Brew

We read a story about a witch who makes a potion to share with her friend and then we all went to the big round table to make our own versions of a potion!

The children were instructed to take one spoonful each of the substances offered such as salt baking soda and vinegar and water. They mixed each time they added something and sometimes they were surprised!

We also read Five Little Pumpkins and then each child received their own little pumpkin to play with. We also sequence to the story.

Everly brought in a book to share!

More porridge

We made a lovely mess while play-acting and below the kids helped me to make another type of porridge, oatmeal!

While we waited for the oatmeal to cook we played a matching game. We ate up the oatmeal but did not like it as much as yesterday’s porridge…

We continue to make tiny books and shared them at meeting time we have a great group of storytellers!

Porridge..& little books.

We are all playing together younger and older. Everett Mayer is proud of being able to climb up the slide.

We re enacted the Three Bears story with my miniature version. Everly had the idea of using the square paper I cut today to make into books!

We cooked our own porridge today to emulate the snack of the Three Bears. The children really enjoyed cooking together and were so excited about the outcome. They loved the porridge and asked for seconds!

While waiting for the porridge to cook the girls enjoyed retelling the stories out of their tiny books. This was a great opportunity for imagination, language and conversation!
